CHASS Student Ambassadors
We Are CHASS: Students, Community, Detroit.
At the College of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences, you will feel seen, supported and connected.
Whether you’re exploring campus for the first time or finding your place at Detroit Mercy, we’re here to walk with you, cheer for you and help you build a meaningful college experience. Through our Radical Hospitality approach, CHASS Student Ambassadors and the Discover Detroit Series, we foster a community where every student knows they belong.
Join us at an upcoming Discover Detroit event, follow our students’ stories on social media or connect with a CHASS Ambassador to learn more about life at Detroit Mercy.
You belong here — and we can’t wait to welcome you into our vibrant community.
Who are the CHASS Student Ambassadors?
The CHASS Student Ambassadors are student leaders dedicated to building community, supporting prospective and current students and living out CHASS’s mission of Radical Hospitality.
Ambassadors help welcome new Titans, guide campus visits, support CHASS events, mentor first-year students and serve as friendly faces across the college.
They also help plan and host the Discover Detroit Series — creating experiences that bring people together and celebrate what makes CHASS special.
Discover Detroit Series
What Is the Discover Detroit Series?
The Discover Detroit Series is one of CHASS’s signature community-building initiatives designed to help students feel connected, supported and inspired. Each month, CHASS leads immersive experiences that introduce students to the cultural, artistic, historical and social heartbeat of Detroit.
It’s simple: we believe students thrive when they feel that they belong — to their college, to each other, and to the city around them.
Through the lens of Radical Hospitality, we invite students to step off campus and into the rhythm, beauty and power of Detroit.
Build community, expand your circle and meet peers across majors.
Feel at home in Detroit and experience a sense of belonging through shared experiences.
Connect classroom learning to place, history, culture and the arts.
Gain confidence as you navigate and engage with the city.
