Ambitious goal for a vibrant new hub
The College of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences has set an ambitious goal to become a leader in Communication Studies with a dynamic new curriculum supported by state-of-the-art facilities. Our vision for reinvigorating the Communication Studies program begins by uniting the disparate functions into one vibrant center on the garden level of the Briggs Building. The hub will provide new and emerging technology for the communication studies lab, video lab and audio lab, where students will learn necessary skills on equipment being used in the field.
Centralizing Varsity News
The Neal Shine Center, home to the 102-year-old Varsity News, will be updated and located in an area more central to the work of the department. Because studying communications is a requirement in the University’s core curriculum, nearly every student who comes through Detroit Mercy will be impacted by the improvement.
Make a Difference
We invite you to join us and help make this vision a reality by making a gift to the Center for Communication Studies.
Tax Benefits
All contributions to the Center for Communication Studies are tax-deductible. The Director of Development is available to consult with you to ensure that however you choose to give—whether a direct contribution, gift of stock or securities, IRA transfer, or Qualified Charitable Distribution, is maximally tax efficient.
Three-Year Term
To allow for donor flexibility, campaign gifts may be fulfilled in annual payments over a three year period.
